If you have made changes to your website, but can not view them, you may need to clear your browser’s cache, or force the page to reload from the server. The following tutorials show the steps to clear your browser’s cache depending on the platform:

First, try a simple force-reload:

  • Linux: F5
  • Windows: CTRL + F5
  • Mac: CMD + R

If that doesn’t work, take the following steps to clear your browser cache:

Clear Cache on FireFox Browsers running under Windows:

  1. Click Tools and select Options.
  2. Click the Advanced icon then click the Network tab.
  3. Under the Cache section click Clear Now.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Exit and relaunch the browser.

Clear Cache on FireFox Browsers running on Macs:

  1. Click the Firefox menu and select Preferences.
  2. Click the Advanced icon and click the Network tab.
  3. Under the Cache section click Clear Now.
  4. Click the X in the top left corner to close the Advanced window.
  5. Exit and re-launch the browser.

Clearing the Cache on Internet Explorer

  1. Go to the Control Panel (Start and select Settings).
  2. Double-click Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Click Delete under the Browsing History section.
  5. Click Delete Files in the Delete Browsing History box.
  6. Click Close, click OK.
  7. Close then re-launch your browser.

Clear Cache for Safari on Mac:

  1. Click the Safari menu, select "Empty Cache".
  2. Click "Empty" on the "are you sure?" message box.
  3. Exit then re-launch the browser.

Easy-peasy… now your browser’s cache of stored files should be cleared, and you can view the changes you have made to your site.
