I mentioned in a previous post that the most stressful job I ever quit had was that of a support tech for a hosting company.

People don’t like their websites being down, in much the same way they don’t like a stubbed toe — it sucks: hard.

Last week I sent in a support ticket for one of my DreamHost hosted sites (not Dreamnut, I’m just a writer here, not the owner) that seemed to be loading extremely slow. DreamHost figured out the problem (their end), fixed it, and emailed me back within the same day.

For me, that is exactly the best possible solution when I contact support, so I was another happy DreamHost customer, for sure.

But, in the same support ticket response, my tech also gave me some very good tips on optimizing my site (which worked great). He also remarked: “PS I must of spent 30 minutes reading your site… good readin`!”

And that just made me feel warm and cozy.
